My "Big Day" (and half) in Texas

On April 28, 2013, I visited High Island, Texas. This was the last day in the spring migration season that the Houston Audubon Society led a guided birding tour. It was the first time I had taken a guided birding tour and it was a fantastic experience. In one day I saw about 100 different species of birds, of which more than 30 were new to me.

Two days later I made brief visits to Seabourne Creek Nature Park (a small municipal park) in Rosenberg, Texas and Brazos Bend State Park, and saw another 20 or so different birds, of which 3 were new to me.
