Smith Oaks
Back from Bolivar, I continued the birding walk with the group. The after arrival of migrants is just as spectacular, with feathered treasures dropping from the sky all the time. (Click on each image to see the high-resolution version)
Even a field mouse (meadow vole) came out to join the spectacle. We even saw an armadillo, but I did not get a good picture of it.
There is a heron rookery at Smith Oaks. Many herons, egrets, spoonbills and cormorants are nesting there.
I also did not forget to snap a picture of one of my favourite Texas wild flower: Pink Evening Primrose.
