Day 6 (Friday, June 1): Martha's Vineyard

Driving distance for the day: 130 Miles
Cumulative distance: 901.3 Miles

Another wonderfully sunny day, which was to be our last sunny day for a while, and we boarded the ferry to Martha's Vineyard.

Ferry

As the ferry approached Oak Bluffs Harbor, we saw West Chop Lighthouse.

A Herring Gull was foraging at the harbor.

While waiting for the shuttle bus for Aquinnah, we lingered around public square at Oak Bluffs.

At the harbor, there was a rather unusual visitor -- the tall ship Picton Castle.

The bus took us to Aquinnah, where the picturesque Gay Head Lighthouse stands on the cliff overlooking the ocean. This view alone is worth the ferry and bus rides.

Aquinnah Cliffs are picturesque in their own right.

But we were dictated by the bus schedule and had to head back to catch the ferry. As the ferry pulled away from Vineyard Haven Harbor, the two sentinels -- East and West Chop Lighthouses bid us goodbye.
