Eighth stop: Segovia
Technically we reached Madrid first (and spent a night there), but the most memorable part of out last days in Spain was a side trip to Segovia. (Click on each image to see the high-resolution version) The most famous structure in Segovia is the Roman Aqueduct. After seeing all the palaces and gardens, it was refreshing to see an even more ancient cival enginerring marvel that actually had more practical purposes for daily life.
The Segovia Cathedral is another massive building in town. Although we were pretty satiated with cathedrals by this time, this one was still impressive.
There were also some stained glasses in exhibit (not the ones mounted in the windows), which allowed me to get a closer look.
As usual, religious-themed sculptures and paintings were everywhere inside the cathedral.
In the town square, some musicians were performing.
The surrounding countryside is very picturesque in Segovia.
A couple of bird pictures.
