Day 4 (Wednesday, May 30): Cape Cod

Driving distance for the day: 50.7 Miles
Cumulative distance: 655.5 Miles

We stationed in Weelfleet on this cloudy day. We took some walks in Wellfleet Audubon Sanctuary. Near the water's edge, we saw many Fillder Crabs scrambling in the marsh.

A Baltimore Oriole was feeding on grape jelly outside the visitor center.

Late on, I took a walk to Marconi Beach from the back of our motel. In the woods, the busy Black-capped Chickadees and Red-breasted Nuthatches caught my attention.

But one of the more surprising encounter was with a Wild Turkey in a weedy powerline right-of-way. I think this was a hen who was incubating her eggs in the nest when she was startled by me.
