Finally the sun came out! And this was our most delightful drive on this trip -- weather was perfect, and made precious after days of rain, and the scenery was superb. As if to make us even happier, when we stopped at a roadside park/rest area, a humorous squirrel put on a show for us.

We drove along the southestern shore of the Gaspe Peninsula and made frequent stops to take in the view.

A relatively short drive (only about half of what we did the day before; plus, we crossed over back to Eastern Timezone from Atlantic Timezone and “saved” one hour) took us to Perce around noon. The famous Perce Rock and Red House on the cliff were in view as we rolled into town.

Perce Rock certainly is the dominant feature around town, it looms large in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence.

We climbed up a hill behind the town, where the view was even better, with the Gulf expanding toward the horizon and the town of Perce, the Rock and Bonaventure Island clearly in view.

At the town dock, I photographed a Long-tailed Duck, one of the 15 new birds of this trip.

Finally, we went back to our motel and kicked back and relaxed. These two chairs are the most relaxing ones in the world as far as I am concerned.
