Cicada
Cicadas are loud insects of summer. Two kinds of cicadas are most commonly found in our area: 17-year Cicadas emerge after spending 13 to 17 years underground (in 2004 we had a mass emergence in our area), and Annual or "Dog-day" Cicadas which emerge every year.
