Day 10 (Saturday, June 29, 2019): One last fishing village
All trips must end, and here we were, on the last of our trip. It seemed as though our luck had also finally run out -- the sky became leaden on this last morning in Iceland.
We stopped by Kirkjufellsfoss again. Just so happens that a cruise ship had docked, and many people from the cruise ship walked to the waterfalls. I took some pictures of the waterfalls from different vantage points.

We drove to Stykkisholmur, a fishing village at in the northern part of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. This would be our last fishing village in Iceland.
Under the gray sky we arrived in Stykkisholmur, and took a walk to the lighthouse on the basalt island Sugandisey that protects the harbor. I am sure the view would be nicer on a better day.

From the island, we looked back to the harbor and the village.

In the distance was Stykkisholmskirkja, Stykkisholmur's modernistic church.

There were many seabirds around the harbor, including this Lesser Black-backed Gull.

We made a stop at a grocery store, Bonus, to buy some chocolate and dried fish to bring home. Then there was the long drive to the airport and the flight home.
