2016 Costa Rica (2nd trip)
We rarely visit the same (foreign) country twice in the same calendar year, but this time we did. After a 11-day trip to Costa Rica in March, we decided to make a return trip during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day (2017).
Part of the reason is that I had to take mandatory time off during this week; but this was hardly the whole reason: of course we loved Costa Rica! And it is so easy to travel to -- just a 5-hour or so flight from where we live, comparable to flying to the West Coast, and much shorter than other U.S. destinations such as Hawaii and Alaska. And in the dead of winter, what could be better than a few days in the tropics? So off we went, again.
