Sea Shells of Sanibel Island
Sanibel and Captiva Islands are known for their abundance and variety of sea shells. We spent a couple of hours picking up some, mostly on Bowman's Beach on Sanibel, but also some in Naples close to our hotel, La Playa Beach Resort. All of these pictures were taken later at home with a macro lens and flash, except the last one which is the shell of a whelk with another live shell on it that we found on Bowman's Beach. Because the small sea shell on it was still alive, we put it back to the water after taking a few pictures of it.
